  • Why should I consider therapy?
    Therapy is an investment in your overall health and happiness. Therapy can help you learn how to cope with stressful or difficult situations and resolve past trauma. In therapy you will learn strategies that will lead to healthier relationships, develop tools to be more effective at work or school, and clarify your needs and wants. Therapy also helps folks struggling with mental health issues learn ways to better manage their symptoms.
  • Does therapy actually work?
    Research demonstrates that therapy works. According to the American Psychological Association, 75% of all people who enter therapy report that it was beneficial to them. Some studies say the percentage is closer to 80%. You can read the American Psychological Association article here.
  • How often do I need to come to therapy?
    I recommend that all new clients come weekly to start out. Weekly therapy sessions help me best understand what your needs are and work with you to develop new skills that you can use in your everyday life to improve your mental health and relationships.
  • Do you offer in-person therapy?
    At this time I don't offer in-person therapy and am telehealth only.
  • Can you see people from any state or county?
    I can only see clients who are located in states where I am licensed. I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor in Michigan and a Telehealth Provider Florida.   • How will I attend my therapy sessions?
    Once you have made the decision to work with me, you will be registered in your a secure HIPAA complaint patient portal through my EHR provider SimplePractice. You’ll log into this portal to complete your paperwork and attend your telehealth session.
  • Do you see children or adolescents?
    At this time, I am only seeing clients who are 18 and older.
  • What is your cancelation policy?
    If you cannot keep your scheduled appointment, please contact me to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of the appointment to avoid being charged for the session.
  • What can I expect during the free consultation?
    It can be anxiety provoking to schedule a therapy session with someone that you’ve never met so, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to potential clients using a secure video platform. The consultation is a way for us to get to know each other and discuss you’re looking for in therapy. I’ll help you understand what to expect from our weekly sessions and share information about my therapeutic approach. You can schedule your free consultation here.
